Monthly Archives: May 2012 When Oliver was born 11 months ago, being a photographer, I felt this tremendous pressure to take lots of pictures of his newborn-ness. I knew that he would only be red and wrinkly and sleepy for a very short time. Every day new babies change drastically, and I was so scared I would miss it!...  I grew up in a community that was so small, when people asked you where you were from, you didn’t tell them the name of your town–Tryon or Pea Ridge, or Green Creek–you simply replied, “Polk County”. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Polk County was small, friendly, beautiful, and everybody knew...
